Among the more celebrated heroes to emerge from Hurricane Katrina's aftermath was the staff of the region’s then-168-year-old newspaper, The Times-Picayune, which won virtually every major journalism award for its Katrina coverage, including two Pulitzer Prizes But today, the New Orleans newspaper is a far different—and many in the industry and community say, diminished—institution.
